AMHERST, NY - Amherst Police say they have identified a bicyclist found floating in Ellicott Creek Monday night, but they are not releasing the identity at this time.
The discovery was made around 7:45 p.m. in the area of Old Falls Boulevard. A kayaker found the bicyclist floating face down and unresponsive. The victim is in critical condition at ECMC.
Police do not suspect foul play.
The victim had no identification. He's described as a white male in his 20's, black hair, brown eyes, about 5'7"-5'9" tall, weighing 150-170 pounds. He was wearing nylon Addidas shorts with a black stripe, black Nike sneakers, a green flannel shirt and a brown t-shirt with a picture of a lion on the front, green plaid shorts, 1 gray and 1 black sock.
Police say the victim may have recently been treated for a burn on his left arm. The bike he was riding is described as an older blue Schwinn mountain bike with a black seat and red stripe.
