BUFFALO, NY - First and second graders at the Tapestry Charter School made a donation to the Red Cross on Monday.
It was the service learning component to their study of extreme weather.
"They wanted to help people who suffer from extreme weather or natural disaster. The Red Cross was a natural choice since they go in to various areas to share expertise on disaster preparedness."
Bake sales and a walk a thon raised two thousand, nine hundred, nine dollars, and sixty four cents.
2 On Your Side Photojournalist Dooley O'Rourke attended the school's last community meeting of the year where the kids handed over their gift to the Red Cross.
