BUFFALO, NY-- A Buffalo teen was supposed to be sentenced Friday for his roll in dousing a puppy with lighter fluid and setting him on fire, but it was adjourned.

Adell Ziegler's sentencing for burning Phoenix, a Jack Russell Terrier puppy was adjourned until June 27th so his defense attorney can research a sentence stipulation by the District Attorney's office that Ziegler not be around, or own an animal for a specific period of time.

Ziegler,19,  could get up to two years in prison for aggravated animal cruelty when he is sentenced.

Ziegler's admitted accomplice, Diondre Brown, was sentenced last month to time already served.

Phoenix has recovered and was adopted by the woman who was his foster owner while he healed.
