BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Today, one of the ultimate grad or Father's Day gifts is finally affordable. As you likely know by now, I love testing new gadgets and over the course of a month I got a chance to test nearly a hundred new products.

The Ways 2 Save-worthy portable "Boom Station" from Natztech was not only something I liked testing, but I liked it so much, I bought it.

How does it work? If you have a Bluetooth-equipped device like an iPhone, iPod, iPad, Android phone (like a Galaxy), BlackBerry, other any number of other MP3 players or smartphones... whatever music you have on that device wirelessly transmits to the Boom Box. That means you can have your device within 25 yards (by our measurements) of the Boom Box and it will play your music in your backyard or a different area of your home.

The Boom Box gives you the option of A/C adapter power or it takes 8 AA batteries (not included) for up to 25 hours of play time.

If you don't have a Bluetooth-ready device, there is also an auxiliary jack on the Boom Box that can accommodate a device with that standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The sound quality is excellent for the price and size, but don't expect a Bose replica. The sound is more comparable to the JBL non-Bluetooth sound dock I featured a few months ago. Also, while an iPhone 4S allowed for a Bluetooth range connection of up to 25 yards, we got a mere 50 feet in tests with an iPad Mini.

Despite a lot of stock, I expect a sellout on today's deal soon.
