LANCASTER, NY - A motorcyclist is in the hospital and a driver is facing charges after a crash on Transit Road Sunday.
Lancaster Police say the 25-year-old man on the motorcycle was traveling north when he was cut off by a southbound vehicle making a left hand turn just north of William Street at about 5 p.m. The two collided, throwing the motorcyclist about 90 feet.
Police say the man was taken to ECMC with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 71-year-old woman, was shaken up at the scene, police said, but did not require hospitalization.
She will be charged with failure to yield the right of way. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor. The names of the motorists had not been released as of Sunday night.
