BUFFALO, NY - It was an early morning for Mike and Sarah Buttino. After giving birth to five children, Sarah knew her contractions with baby number six were coming fast and furious. It was time to head to Sisters Hospital, but the ride there included several emergency roadside stops.
"We held up traffic, yup, held up traffic. And our doctor, actually we held up him too" Mike told us.
After the third emergency stop, just before the William Street Exit, Mike knew it was time to go into action. He pulled over one more time when Sarah's water broke. He called 911, and they talked him through the whole process.
Mike says, "I was hoping the ambulance would arrive soon, but it didn't and he said can you push? Ok, guess we are delivering the baby, and she pushed once and the head came out. I said breath, and she pushed again, and the baby came out and in my hands, most amazing experience."
The ambulance didn't arrive in time for the delivery, but thankfully it wasn't too far behind!
A picture perfect baby girl without a name yet, after all Sarah's due date was a week away, and the couple had yet to decide on a name, "It was William street, what can we do with that... Willamena, Willow?"
