BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - The Ohio-based Longaberger basket company is going to resume making its pottery in the United States.
The company is scheduled to cut the ribbon on a 300,000-square-foot facility in Buffalo today. Longaberger says it's part of its "Project Eagle" effort to move to an all American-made line.
Longaberger and Niagara Ceramics of Buffalo will team up on Longaberger's Woven Traditions pottery, which the company says was launched in 1992 and has been made overseas since 2005.
Company officials say that 22 people will be working on Longaberger pottery in Buffalo.
The Longaberger Company was founded in 1973. Its baskets and other products are sold by about 25,000 independent home salespeople.
