NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The suspect in a Mother's Day parade shooting in New Orleans has made his first court appearances.
Nineteen-year-old Akein Scott faces 20 charges of attempted second-degree murder. He made two court appearances Thursday morning.
First, Magistrate Judge Gerard Hansen set Scott's bond at $10 million - $500,000 on each of the 20 counts in the parade shooting.
Authorities had earlier said 19 people were wounded in the Mother's Day shooting, but prosecutors said Thursday that the tally has increased to 20.
Prosecutors told Hansen that a witness to the shooting picked Scott's photo out of a lineup.
In Scott's second court appearance, a state District Court judge ordered him to be held without bond pending additional hearings in an unrelated weapon and drugs case.
Scott was arrested Wednesday night.
