MEDINA, N.Y. - Clothing store owner Angela Waldriff has found a unique way to draw attention to a cause near and dear to her.
Every year just before Mother's Day, she holds a bra decorating contest. Entries are part of a larger display for breast cancer awareness at her store, Ashlee's Place, on Center Street in the village.
Waldriff collects donations and chooses a different cancer charity to give to each year.
This year she is supporting the Knights-Kaderli Fund which helps cancer patients in Orleans County.
"It's a small contribution, but I think every little bit helps. We're just doing our part to try and raise awareness and help other women," said Waldriff.
She started fundraising 15 years ago after he mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now cancer-free.
