Here's something to keep in mind when visiting your doctor online, rather than in person. You will get you an accurate diagnosis -- but you may be more likely to take antibiotics.
researchers at the university of pittsburgh studied more than five thousand doctor visits for sinusitis, and two thousand visits for u-t-i's. some of the visits were electronic, meaning patients answered a series of questions on a secure website, and doctors would respond shortly after via email.
they found the diagnosis was the same with both types of visits, but e-visits were more likely to lead to a prescription for antibiotics and fewer follow-up tests.
