Jacquetta Simmons in court
BATAVIA, NY-- The Batavia woman who was found guilty of assaulting a Wal-Mart greeter also faced a judge again Thursday.
Jacquetta Simmons was in court for a restitution hearing.
The family of the elderly woman who was attacked is asking for $2,100 in damages for bills not covered by worker's compensation.
Simmons slapped Grace Suozzi, 70, so hard it knocked her to the ground, after Souzzi asked to see her receipt.
Simmons has been free on bail as she appeals her five-year prison sentence.
But that stay ends on next month. Simmons was the first person in new york state to be sentenced under the tough new elder abuse law.
