CARROLL, NY - The Chautauqua County Sheriff Office says two bodies have been found in the Town of Carroll.

Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, authorities began identifying the case as a homicide.

Deputies were called to a home on Wheeler Hill Road after a report of a fire in the residence around 9:30 Wednesday morning according to Sheriff Joseph Gerace.

"They found that to be suspicious, asked for the sheriff's office for assistance and we responded to the scene, the circumstances are in deed suspicious," said Gerace of fire officials.

Circumstances of the deaths are unknown at this time.

The county sheriff does not believe they're investigating a suicide.

David Foley, district attorney of Chautauqua County said, "we secured a search warrant, for the property this morning, we've gone in, we're still processing the scenes the bodies of male and female victims have been removed."

Friends and neighbors tell Two On Your Side the two were married. They say the man was an ex-marine and the woman worked out of town. Neighbors say that the couple had no children and that they were good people. An autopsy will be done by the Erie County Medical Examiner's Office.

The sheriff's office is not releasing the names of the victims or how they were killed. There's also no information about any suspects.

Officials have given no time frame on this investigation. They say they'll investigate the home for clues and evidence as long as it takes. Officials say that there is no danger to neighbors or the community.
