BUFFALO, NY--  An Elma man accused of forcing a teen to hold her hands in bleach causing 3rd degree burns is facing more charges.

Gary R. Mathews, 45, was charged earlier this week for assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges.

Troopers say Mathews forced a 15-year-old girl to submerge her hands in bleach for up to 10 minutes, causing third-degree burns.

Investigators say Mathews faces two more counts of endangering the welfare of a child and another assault charge for allegedly punching a relative who tried to intervene, as well as for not seeking medical attention for the teen for at least five days after the incident.

The teen was taken to Women and Children's Hospital's burn union, where she is in stable condition.

State Police and Child Protective Services continue to investigation.
