BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced the city's 6th gun buyback program on Tuesday.

According to city officials, residents have turned in nearly 3,700 guns over the past five gun buyback programs.

"I recognize that this single Gun BuyBack effort will not eliminate the illegal weapons on our city streets," said Mayor Brown. "We may never know how many crimes we've prevented as a result of past Gun BuyBack events, but we do know there won't be a tragic shooting in Buffalo tied to the guns we collected."

The "No Questions Asked" gun buyback is scheduled for May 4, 2013 from 9am-5pm at the following locations:

  • True Bethel Baptist Church, 907 East Ferry Street
  • St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 450 Abbott Road

  • Prince of Peace Christian Church, 190 Albany Street
  • Church of the Good Shepherd, 96 Jewett Parkway
