Arrest Made in Drunken Tractor-Driving Incident

VILLAGE OF WYOMING, NY - Wyoming County Sheriff's deputies were responding to a call about someone throwing eggs at a house just after 1 a.m. on Thursday when they found Robert A. Townsend, 61, driving a John Deere compact tractor down Main Street, apparently drunk.

Townsend was taken to the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office where he refused a breathalyzer test.

He was charged with felony D.W.I., first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and refusal to take a breath-screening test. He's being held on $5,000 cash bail at the Wyoming County Jail.
