Plane Returns to Buffalo Airport Due to Smoke in Cockpit

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- A United Airlines flight bound for Newark, New Jersey had to return to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Wednesday morning after the pilot noticed smoke in the cockpit.

45 people were on board the plane, which returned to the airport safely.  No one was hurt.

There's no word on what caused the smoke to appear in the cockpit.
