BUFFALO, NY - A large weather system located in southeastern Canada will continue to control the weather across the Great Lakes. The cold core system will swirl chilly air over the open waters of Lake Erie & Ontario producing lake effect snow showers across the area through today.

The day will stat out with snow showers and gusty winds creating blustery conditions across WNY. 1-3" of snow will fall across the northern counties while 4-6" will accumulate over higher elevations of the S. Tier. Temperature will start in the 20s and only rise to near 32F, but wind chills will be in the teens.
