BUFFALO, NY - Second grade students learned a lot about Black History and they walked the red carpet to showcase their knowledge.

The students attend Frederick Law Olmsted in Buffalo. During the month of February, each student researched and in some cases interviewed the person they wanted to learn more about for the assignment.

Mrs. Schenk worked with the students. Cayla Cooper wanted to research WGRZ-TV reporter Claudine Ewing. Cooper had a chance to interview Claudine in person and when it was time for all of the students to dress up as the person they researched, Cayla was decked out in a pretty little dress and a black coat. She was surprised to see Claudine in the school auditorium with all of the parents as she walked the red carpet.

The students conducted interviews with their classmates about their research.
