BUFFALO, NY-A student at East High School is facing charges after bringing a handgun to school with him on Thursday.
The 15-year-old is charged with criminal possession of a handgun.
Police spokesperson Mike DeGeorge tells 2 On Your Side the gun was not loaded.
The Buffalo School district released the following statement Friday afternoon in response to the incident:
A student was discovered to be in possession of an unloaded firearm at East High School on March 7th. The District's standard disciplinary procedures were followed, which included an arrest of the student by the Buffalo police department.
Beyond the discovery of the weapon, there was no incident.
