Eight People Displaced from Box Ave. 2-Alarm Fire

BUFFALO, NY - Buffalo Firefighters are on scene of a 2-alarm fire on Box Avenue involving two occupied dwellings.

The fire was called in to Buffalo Fire around 6:30 a.m. and was elevated to a second alarm fire just before 7 a.m.

When Buffalo Firefighters arrived to the 100 block of Box Avenue they found a car on fire between two homes. The fire was spreading to those homes.

One firefighter was taken to ECMC with what appeared to be an injured shoulder. 

The Red Cross has been requested to assist eight adults who were displaced from the fire.

Total damages to 167 Box Avenue have been estimated at $80,000.  Damages to 171 Box Avenue have been estimated at $60,000.  The car was valued at $2,000.

The 2-alarm fire kept firefighters busy for about an hour.  Officials called the fire under control just after 7:30 a.m.
