BUFFALO, NY - For the first time since he received what he says is a troubling voicemail from developer Carl Paladino, Buffalo School Board member Ralph Hernandez is talking.

Hernandez says, "No I'm not going to say it was a threat, it was troubling, that's all I will say."

Hernandez received the message from developer Carl Paladino two days after Paladino was kicked out of a Buffalo School Board meeting for verbally attacking individuals from the podium.

Hernandez has not been able to meet with legal council to discuss the contents of the message yet so he refused to elaborate to us, only describing it during an impromptu press conference.  "It was troubling, troubling.  I won't be specific beyond that, if not I would not have turned it over to legal council in the first place."

Paladino would not talk directly to us about the message, however Channel 2 political host Kristy Mazurek spoke with him earlier this week, and according to her, Paladino told Hernandez: "I believe you're not up to the job and should resign.  He went on to say, "I don't want to expose your inabilities."

Paladino has been very critical of Hernandez and has called for him to resign due to his close relationship with BTF President Phil Rumore.

Recently Paladino called Hernandez "an inept embarrassment to the citizens of Buffalo who deserve much better."

Hernandez talked about how he would react if Paladino wins a seat on the board this May.

"Fine, fine.  I have no objection working with Carl on the board.  I suspect being legal council he will conduct himself accordingly."

Paladino was adamant when he spoke to Mazurek this week that his message was not threatening.  He plans to run for the Park District school board seat in May.
