March is here and spring is just about two weeks away. The meteorological winter (December, January, and February) has ended and snow totals can be analyzed.
Buffalo received 46.3" of snow, which is well below the average of 70".
February helped bring the snow totals up a bit with 20.5" falling during the month which is above the monthly February average of 17.3".
Lake Erie didn't freeze over which helped keep lake effect snow going well into winter.
December received 19.2" and January only 6.2".
This winter still had more snow than last year's 34.2".
