WEST SENECA, NY - A man is recovering at a local hospital after being hit by a passing truck on the mainline thruway.
The accident happened just before 3:00 Friday morning along the Westbound I-90 near the Cazenovia Creek overpass.
New York State Police say that the driver of a pickup truck, which ran out of gas, was trying to push his vehicle out of the way of traffic when a tractor trailer hit him.
We're told that the man suffered a fractured shoulder and pelvis.
He was taken to Erie County Medical Center by Rural Metro Medical Services.
The right two lanes of the Interstate were block for most of the overnight hours while troopers investigated the accident.
State Police reminds everyone that if your vehicle becomes disabled along the Thruway, stay in your vehicle and call for help.
