STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Penn State campus police accuse a freshman running back from Western New York of breaking a window in a dormitory.

18-year-old Akeel Lynch was charged Friday with criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a window in Shulze Hall on Nov. 16.

Lynch did not immediately return a request for comment to his campus email address, and a school spokesman could not immediately say whether Lynch had been disciplined by the team.

Lynch faces a preliminary hearing on March 27. Lynch did not play in any games this past season. The incident happened the night before the team's home game against Indiana.

Lynch was recruited from Athol Springs, N.Y.
