BUFFALO, NY-- Lawmakers in Erie County voted Thursday to join a growing list of counties that are publicly opposing the New York State's gun law.

Erie Co. Legislature passed the resolution by 7-4 vote calling for New York State to repeal the SAFE Act. They are the 5th county in WNY to oppose NY's gun control legislation.

Earlier this week, the Niagara County Legislature voted to take a stand against New York's SAFE Act, following in the footsteps of Wyoming, Orleans and Cattaraugus counties, who already voted to support legislation encouraging Albany to repeal the law.
