OLEAN, NY - An elderly Olean man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit and run.
Police say Paul Wood, 79, struck and killed Leisa J. Lentz, 53, as she crossed South Union near Irving Street around 7 p.m. Thursday.
A witness told police they were walking on that roadway and heard the crash.
Lentz was rushed to Olean General but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Wood has been charged with leaving the scene of fatal accident.
