BUFFALO, NY--Some people may remember that a meteor streaked through the skies over Western New York back in the summer of 2001.
Astronomers say a fireball which probably weighed about 500 pounds entered the earth's atmosphere on the evening of July 23rd, 2001. It was seen in a large area that included Buffalo, much of Pennsylvania, and down through Baltimore.
Experts say it broke apart over a cornfield in Central Pennsylvania, but no actual damage was found.
