Almost half of American adults with high blood pressure -- have it under control.
Researchers interviewed over 9-thousand hypertension patients and found 47-percent had controlled blood pressure at the end of 2010.
That's up from only 29-percent a decade earlier.
These improvements are most likely due to the use of multiple drug combinations ... which became the recommended treatment in 2003.
The availability of generic medications and more awareness about the dangers of hypertension have also improved results.
