Low levels of Vitamin D may contribute to the pain of knee osteoarthritis among african americans.

Researchers at the University of Florida studied nearly 100 arthritis patients -- half were white and half were black.

The majority of black patients had lower levels of Vitamin D -- despite living in sunny Florida. they also reported lower pain thresholds.

Researchers say more studies are needed, and suggest talking to a doctor before starting vitamin d supplements.
