DEPEW, N.Y. - Many of the firefighters who responded to a fire at the Boys and Girls Club on New Year's Day were helping the club in a different way Saturday morning.
They held a "fill the boot" drive at various intersections across Depew and Lancaster.
The money raised will go toward the rebuilding process and be used to purchase equipment and other items damaged by the fire.
Dave Hoch, the club's executive director, said they are committed to rebuilding on the same Preston Street site.
"This is home. It's a great village, and we've got a lot of support. We are going to stay her," said Hoch.
A fundraiser called "Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future" will be held Saturday, February 9th at St. Mary's High School in Lancaster.
