BUFFALO, N.Y.-Tuesday night McKinley poured in 29 first quarter points in an 84-50 win over Hutch-Tech on the Engineers home court.
The Macks responded to what head coach Zaire Dorsey has asked for all season. He told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "I thought we played excellent. I've been asking the guys to come out and give me a 30 point first quarter. We scored 29. I think we played excellent in the first quarter, took a little dive in the second quarter and picked it up again in the third quarter when we had 22."
In the first quarter all six McKinley players either scored or had an assist.
The Macks were led in scoring by # 5 senior Reyzon Jordan who led all scorers with 17 points. The Macks # 1 Lovell Smith had 16 points. For Hutch-Tech # 5 Jovohn Owens was the top scorer with 11 points.
McKinley improves to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in Yale Cup play. The Macks are back in action Wednesday night at home against Clarence in an intriguing non-league matchup.
