BUFFALO, N.Y. -- NBC's "The Biggest Loser" is one of TV's most popular shows.
A new season premieres Sunday night at nine right here on Channel 2, and a Western New York woman's efforts to embrace weight loss will be seen here and across the nation.
28-year-old Cate Laughlan was born and raised in Ransomville and graduated from Wilson High School and attended Niagara University. Cate says she's struggled with her weight for a long time, and the decision to audition for the show was not only about trying to make a physical transformation, but a personal one too.
"It isn't about being able to fit into your favorite shorts and look cute. It's about your health and your life. What I'm hoping to learn on the ranch is how to find Cate, because I am just lost under all that I have become over these years. I'm lost and I'm hiding behind plus sized clothing. I don't feel like myself in my own skin. I'm fun, I'm happy and I want to get out there and do things."
You can see Cate begin her journey Sunday night at nine in the two hour season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" here on NBC and Channel 2.
