Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Steven Pledger scored a game-high 18 points as
the Oklahoma Sooners defeated the Ohio University Bobcats, 74-63, in non-
conference play at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Pledger cleared six rebounds for Oklahoma (8-3), while Amath M'Baye and Romero
Osby contributed 16 points apiece as the Sooners moved to 3-1 at home on the
season.
For the Bobcats (8-5), D.J. Cooper finished with a team-high 14 points and
seven assists. Reggie Keely pulled down eight boards to go with 13 points,
while Walter Offutt chipped in 11 points as the Bobcats lost for the third
time in the last four outings.
The first half ended with both teams even at 29-29. Oklahoma missed all eight
opportunities beyond the arc, while Ohio made 5-of-14 from long range.
The Sooners went on a roll in the second half, knocking down 17-of-24 from the
floor (.708), including 3-of-4 from 3-point range, en route to the double-
digit win.
Oklahoma forced 18 turnovers, creating 22 points off miscues, and outscored
the visitors at the free-throw line by a 17-5 margin.
