BUFFALO, N.Y. - A 23-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to attempted bribing of a witness, according to the Erie County District Attorney's Office.
The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Nikole Ward admitted that she offered $1,000 to prevent a prosecution witness from testifying against Andrew Spears and Lonnie Spears, who were on trial before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case in connection with an indictment charging them with a gunpoint home invasion.
According to a statement, the prosecution witness immediately reported the bribery attempt to the District Attorney's Office and testified at the trial.
The District Attorney's Office says Ward faces up to 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison when she is sentenced April 1, 2013 before Judge Case.
