Meteorologists from the National Weather Service say the water dropped 2 feet in 12 hours because of a seiche. It's caused when the wind changes direction.
Officials say there's no need to be worried about flooding when the water level goes back to normal.
They explain that Lake Erie is like a bathtub. While the water levels are dropping here, they're likely rising on the other end of the lake near Toledo, Ohio.
