In Western New York we see the spirit of giving all year round and it hasn't gone unnoticed here at 2 On Your Side.
2 on Your Side's Theresa DeLuca looks back with a local song-writer's tribute to the city of good neighbors.
Nickel City Hank is a retired bus driver and in his 33 years on the roads of Buffalo he's seen a lot of skilled talented people that are donating their time and energies just from their passion for their home.
"I had an opportunity also to see the people on the streets of with the newspapers for Children's hospital and the firemen passing the boot and these sorts of things really kind of inspired me," Hank said. "If I could send a Christmas card to all these people in Buffalo that are doing all these great things these are the words I'd be saying."
"Christmas is near with another New Year here in Buffalo. Don't the city look pretty all dressed up in Holiday lights. Outside it's snowing. The street lights are glowing here in Buffalo. And the whole town is hopping everybody's out shopping getting ready for Christmas Eve night," Hank said. "Now if I may, I'd just like to say Merry Christmas to the ones who make it feel like Christmas all the year through. You're the reason that we all call Buffalo the city of good neighbors. Merry Christmas my friends and a Happy, Happy New Year to you. Merry Christmas my friends and a happy, happy new year to you."
And we join Hank in wishing all of our good neighbors a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.
We found out about Hank's song through an email.
