SHELBY, NY - A 19-year-old Corfu woman died from injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle collision Sunday night.
The Orleans County Sheriff's Office says Kelsey N. Milks died at Erie County Medical Center shortly after Mercy Flight flew her there from the accident scene.
The collision happened around 7 p.m. along the 5700 block of Route 63.
Investigators say two separate collisions occurred. The first was when a head-on crash between a Dodge Caravan and Chevrolet Cavalier. The impact sent the Caravan down an embankment and into a ditch.
The second collision happened when a Chevrolet Cobalt hit the Cavalier.
The driver of the Cavalier, Dana R. Cipra, 20, of Batavia was flown to E.C.M.C. Her condition is not known this morning, but remained hospitalized. Her passenger was Kelsey Milks.
The driver of the Dodge Caravan, Walter C. Hawkins, 73, of Medina was treated and released from Medina Memorial Hospital.
The driver and passenger of the Cobalt were not hurt.
