Three Businesses Referred to State Liquor Authority

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - State Police have referred three Western New York businesses to the Buffalo Office of the New York State Liquor Authority after alcohol purchases were made by underage operatives.

State Police say they conducted a weekend underage drinking detail using underage operatives to attempt to purchase alcohol at a number of businesses.

Police listed a number of local businesses and restaurants that complied with the law and refused serving the underage operatives.

Investigators say the following three businesses allowed alcohol purchases by underage operatives:

  1. 7-Eleven Store            Hazeltine Avenue, Jamestown
  2. Hartfield Bay Cafe        East Lake Road, Mayville
  3. French Creek Tavern    French Creek-Mina Road, Clymer

As a result of those purchases, police have issued appearance tickets to 21-year-old Shawn Lawson, of Jamestown, 47-year-old Lloyd Newhouse, of Mayville, and 34-year-old Trudy Burchanowski, of Northeast, PA.

The businesses will be referred to the Buffalo Office of the New York State Liquor Authority.
