BUFFALO, NY-- The starved puppy found lying on the steps of a city animal hospital is doing so well that it may head to a foster home on Wednesday.
The SPCA says the female pit bull called "Metro" after a Rural Metro ambulance crew who spotted her, was found outside the Anderson Inner City Animal Hospital on November 28th. The investigation continues as to who left her there in a severely emaciated condition.
Since she's been under the care of the veterinary staff at the Ensminger Road shelter, Metro's temperature has gone up, her color has come back and she continues to put on weight.
Monday, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for abusing the dog.
