BUFFALO, NY -- A local couple has opened their hearts and homes to not one, but two baby boys with special needs. Kristen and David Coffee knew that they wanted to expand their family and give 9-year old Caleb a sibling to love.

The idea of adopting a baby with Downs Syndrome came to Kristen while sitting in church one Sunday. She decided it was a very good option for her family. Turns out, social media played part two in the scenario. While on Facebook that same Sunday evening, Kristen saw a post for a baby with Downs Syndrome that needed a home. That baby was Elijah and he joined the Coffee family in July of 2011.

Just when the family thought they were complete, came another series of phone calls regarding another baby that needed a loving home. The Coffee's couldn't say no. They brought baby Gabe into their home just before Christmas in 2011.

The babies have gone through a lot. They've both had open heart surgery. They both have many therapies to help them. Kristen and David work hard to keep everything in order and keep the doctors appointments and specialty appointments all in order.

The couple says both boys bring more joy into their homes than they could have imagined. They say the sky is the limit when it comes to what their boys will accomplish. They also say there are many, many babies with special needs that need a loving home.
