CLARENCE, NY - There were extra police patrols around Clarence High School Friday morning after school officials received an anonymous tip about a threat to the school.
State Police in Clarence tell 2 On Your Side that the school received the tip after school on Thursday when a rumor started through Facebook and text messages.
School officials contacted state police, who investigated and determined the threat was not credible.
Troopers will not specify what the threat was.
School was opened as normal on Friday, with extra patrols nearby as a precaution.
Investigators say the district is dealing with the situation internally.
