BUFFALO. N.Y. - ShaRonda Platt spoke out in anger, frustration and sadness on Wednesday afternoon as she described what it is like to have her two year old baby in hospital with a gun shot wound to the face.
On Tuesday, two year old J'raeona Moore was shot while sitting her mom's car in the parking lot of a convenience store in Niagara Falls.
Police the baby was a victim of a drive by shooting.
Platt says her daughter was shot twice in the face but does not appear to have suffered brain damage.
She's also asking whoever was responsible for injuring her daughter, to turn themselves in.
"That's my baby and I just want whoever did this to my baby to step up," Platt told reporters during a news conference at Buffalo Women and Children's Hospital where her daughter remains in stable condition.
"Be a man about this situation. You were a man when you had the gun, now be a man and take responsibility," Platt said.
In the meantime, Platt's church has established an online donation site to help defray the cost of J'reona's medical treatments:http://gofundme.com/helpthebaby
