A new study reveals most seniors are getting a sufficient amount of shut eye during normal sleeping hours.

Researchers say these findings contradict the belief that the elderly go to bed early and have trouble staying asleep.

Only 25-percent of seniors in the study said they slept less than seven hours a night and had problems with daytime sleepiness.

In fact, many seniors' sleep habits are similar to those of young adults.

Experts say sleep issues among elderly people may depend on the health of the individual ... rather than age.

Daytime sleepiness may also be linked to medications and illness.
