Congresswoman Kathy Hochul (D-NY)
HAMBURG, NY - Kathy Hochul was all smiles when she arrived at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamburg to vote. She was there at 7:30 a.m. with a box of doughnuts in her hand for workers.
Hochul knows her battle to retain her seat as a Representative in Congress won't be easy. Polls show her race against Republican challenger Chris Collins is a dead heat.
Hochul says she has run across many voters who are willing to cross party lines when they vote today.
"No one dreamed in a million years we'd be this close on Election day. Truly when they re-drew the lines and made this more Republican than the race I won more than a year and a half ago, it's now the most Republican in the state and 50-percent is new to me, they said it couldn't be done."
