NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. -- Election Day is next Tuesday. Tuesday night, October 30th, two candidates for the 26th District Congressional Seat debated in Niagara Falls.
Incumbent Brian Higgins (D-Buffalo) and challenger Mike Madigan are campaigning to represent the Falls, Downtown Buffalo, and its immediate northtowns. We asked both men how they feel about the development that's happening along the Buffalo Waterfront, specifically at Canalside.
MADIGAN: "My priority will be very different. It will be creating full time permanent jobs in the heart of the district, not part time summer jobs out on the waterway."
HIGGINS: "Four years ago there were no visitors and no events, so next year we'll have over 600 events, and we're continuing to just make major progress toward the redevelopment of Buffalo, its Waterfront and the downtown area."
