OLCOTT, NY - Communities along the Lake Ontario shoreline are dealing with strong wind gusts and high waves as a result of superstorm Sandy.

Strong winds are creating waves up to 20 feet tall, unprecedented in living memory. It's unusual for winds this strong to be coming from the north.

2 On Your Side's Jeff Preval spoke with Town of Newfane Supervisor Timothy Horanburg on Monday night.  The Town Supervisor says, "Luckily, the water level has been extremely low, probably down three or four feet.  If the wind changes from the northeast, and sends the water down to this end, with this wind and these waves, we're all going to have trouble."
