BUFFALO, NY - No one is saying very much about the Buffalo Bills lease negotiations. The NFL team's 15-year lease for Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park expires in July 2013. The stadium is owned by Erie County.

A spokesman for Governor Cuomo told 2 On Your Side's Claudine Ewing that negotiations are ongoing with the County of Erie and the Buffalo Bills. It is critical to the State of New York that the team remains in town. "The Governor is committed to keeping the Bills in WNY and we are exploring all possible options to do that," said a spokesman for the Governor.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz, a major player in the lease deal said "ongoing negotiations have been productive, we will not be discussing their content in the media."

Renovating the stadium is expected to top $200 million dollars, some of it would be county money. Poloncarz said "we will continue to work on negotiating a lease with the Buffalo Bills at their current home in Orchard Park, which the Bills have indicated they do not want to leave."

Buffalo Bills CEO Russ Brandon, was unavailable to do a phone or on-camera interview, but had the team's Senior Vice President of Communications send this statement to 2 On Your Side regarding negotiations: "We continue to meet with County and State officials and have had productive sessions."
