BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Late Monday night, 2 On Your Side received an email from the campaign of Erie County Legislator Betty Jean Grant, who, after absentee ballots were counted, lost a close race to incumbent Tim Kennedy for the 63rd District State Senate race.

Earlier this month, the board of elections said they would certify the results.

Monday night, Grant emailed us saying today at her office, she opened a letter that was postmarked October 3rd, threatening her and her family harm, if she didn't give up trying to win the election.

Grant says she will forward the letter, which she says was signed "the KKK,"to local authorities and the FBI.  She says she has no idea who sent it.

Grant adds she will appeal the decision that ended the ballot recount in the state senate race and that her supporters will be encouraging voters to write her in for state senate on Election Day.
