CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. - Several fire companies are at the scene of a fiery crash on the I-90 eastbound just under the I-190 on-ramps.

The New York State Police tell us that the accident happened around 9:04 a.m. and that a tractor-trailer immediately went up in flames.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Umaru Gabon, of California, has been taken to ECMC for injuries and there are no reported fatalities on the scene.

State Police say Gabon drove off the right shoulder of I-90, striking several sections of guide rail and a concrete barrier before stopping under the I-190 overpass.

Everyone in the tractor-trailer got out safely before it quickly became engulfed in flames. No other vechicles were involved in the accident.

Both Gabon and another passenger were taken to Erie County Medical Center for minor injuries.

Debris from the accident blocked off all lanes of the I-90 eastbound. Troopers on the scene are directing traffic onto the I-190 north (exit 53).

The ramp from the I-190 south the I-90 east was also closed for a short time due to smoke from scene. However firefighters were able to quickly put out the flames and that on-ramp has since re-opened.

According to police, the cause of the accident was driver error and Gabon was ticketed for moving from lane unsafely.

East-bound traffic was diverted at exit 53 for more than two hours.

The left-hand lane and middle lane of east-bound traffic on I-90 has slowly opened up. Crews are still working in the right-hand lane to remove the tractor-trailor from the underpass.

UPDATE: All lanes of I-90 are now open and debris from the accident has been cleared. All of the debris was removed shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday.
