TONAWANDA, N.Y.-In the final game at Clinton H. Small stadium North Tonawanda beat Tonawanda 17-14.
The Lumberjacks opened the scoring with a field goal and then Tonawanda scored the game's first touchdown. #2 Clayton Hess connected with # 4 Tristan Boling for the touchdown and the Warriors led 7-3.
North Tonawanda answered with a Neimiah Stone touchdown run to retake the lead but Hess connected with # 85 Connor Pumm for a touchdown and the Warriors le14-10 Warriors.
For the Lumberjacks # 12 Stone carried 17 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns. He had a 15 yard TD run and a 16 yard touchdown run. The Lumberjacks put the game away with the help of two big runs by # 49 John Zelmer who finished the night with 12 carries for 62 yards.
On defense # 2 Luke Toposki had a forced fumble, a fumble recover, an interception and five tackles.
"I was so proud of them," said North Tonawanda Head Coach Tony Truilizio. "We've matured together and this is a stepping stone for our future." North Tonawanda moves to 2-5 while Tonawanda falls to 1-6.
